Terms and Conditions

Plain-language terms for using American Emergency Funds. Please read them before you submit a request.

Welcome. By using this website (the "site") or submitting a request through it, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. We've written these in plain language on purpose, because you deserve to understand what you're agreeing to.

What This Service Is

American Emergency Funds is not a lender or a broker and does not make credit decisions or fund loans. We connect your request with lenders and lending partners in our network.

When you submit a request, we use the information you provide to try to connect you with one or more lenders or lending partners in our network. We're a matching service, nothing more. We don't lend money, we don't set rates, and we aren't your financial, legal, or tax advisor.

No Guarantee

Submitting a request does not guarantee approval, or a specific rate, term, or amount. Approval, APR, fees, and funding are determined solely by the lender.

Whether you're approved, and on what terms, is up to the lender. We can't promise that any lender will make you an offer, and submitting a request creates no obligation on either side until you and a lender agree to a specific loan.

Who Can Use the Service

To use this service you must be a U.S. resident and at least 18 years old, and you must meet the requirements of the lenders in our network. Service availability and loan products vary by state.

By using the site, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is true and accurate as far as you know. Giving false information can cause a lender to decline your request, and it may be unlawful.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information in any form you submit.
  • Use the site only for your own personal, lawful purposes, not on behalf of someone else without their permission.
  • Read any lender's full terms, including the costs, fees, and repayment schedule, before you accept a loan.
  • Don't attempt to disrupt, scrape, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems.
  • Don't submit content that is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or that infringes anyone's rights.

How We Are Compensated

American Emergency Funds may receive compensation from lenders or lending partners when a visitor is matched or funded. This compensation may affect which lenders appear in our network and how requests are routed.

This is how we keep the service free for you. It doesn't obligate you to accept any offer.

Communications and Consent

By submitting your request, you agree to be contacted by American Emergency Funds and its lending partners by phone, text message, and email, including through automated or prerecorded technology, at the number and address you provide, even if it is on a do-not-call list. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can opt out at any time by following the instructions in any message you receive.

The full consent, and how to revoke it, is on the TCPA consent page. How we handle your information is in the privacy policy.

Intellectual Property

The site's content, including its text, graphics, logos, and design, is owned by American Emergency Funds or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may view it for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, or sell our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

Third-Party Sites and Lenders

The site connects you with third-party lenders and may link to outside resources. We don't control those sites or lenders, and we aren't responsible for their content, products, privacy practices, or the terms of any loan they offer you. Any loan agreement is strictly between you and the lender.

Not Financial Advice

The content on this site is for general educational purposes only and is not financial, legal, or tax advice. Any figures shown are illustrations, not offers.

Limitation of Liability

The site and the matching service are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent allowed by law, American Emergency Funds isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, your reliance on its content, or any loan you obtain through a lender in our network. Because we aren't a party to your loan, we aren't responsible for a lender's decisions, terms, fees, or conduct. Some states don't allow certain limits on liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may update, change, or discontinue any part of the site at any time, and we may revise these terms. When we do, the updated terms take effect when posted here. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which American Emergency Funds operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the site or these terms will be handled in the courts located there, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
